Frequently Asked Questions

What can Occupational Therapy assist my child with?

We assist children in many areas, from gross motor development, fine motor development, self care, social skills, self regulation, prewriting, handwriting, memory and much, much more! We can complete assessments to help determine the focus for therapy and from there write up an individualised therapy plan for each child.

What can Speech Pathology assist with?

Speech pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills and stuttering. They work closely with other Allied Health professionals in creating an holistic and comprehensive treatment program for your child.

Do I need a referral for my child to see an Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist?

No you do not need a referral, if you have any concerns about your child’s development you are free to contact us at any time. If you have been referred, then please send any referral information prior to your child’s first appointment.

What if my child has had treatment or assessments before?

Any previous assessment information will be valuable. Please send any information you are happy to share prior to your child’s first appointment.

The Medicare rebate is available through the Enhanced Primary Health Care Plan. Please contact your doctor to find out if your child is eligible for an EPC plan.

How long does will the first visit take?

For your child’s first visit we allow one hour.  However, it may be a little longer or shorter depending on the individual child and circumstances. If you do require additional reports we normally allow up to two more sessions to complete.

Why do you need to charge a cancellation fee?
